Kaplan EduNeering Introduces Strategies for Government Integrity with County Executives of America

May 20, 2010 - Princeton, NJ - Kaplan EduNeering, a leading provider of ethics and compliance training solutions, and County Executives of America, the only non-partisan association dedicated specifically to chief elected county officials, today announced the launch of the Kaplan EduNeering Strategies for Government Integrity program. The multi-part training and communication program enables government officials and employees, contractors and suppliers to make ethical decisions that serve the public interest and comply with regulatory requirements. Kaplan EduNeering is the exclusive online training partner of the County Executives of America.

“With public distrust at an all-time high, public servants and their contractors face unprecedented scrutiny by their constituents, regulators and watchdog groups,” said Lisa Clune, President of Kaplan EduNeering. “We’re very pleased to join with County Executives of America in this important program. When it comes to ethical behavior, ‘good intentions’ are not enough. Our online training and communications program provides the practical knowledge needed by government employees and contractors to make ethical decisions that serve the public’s interests and comply with evolving ethics regulations.”

The Kaplan EduNeering Strategies for Government Integrity solution provides a comprehensive menu of tools to create and maintain a strong, ethical culture. The program’s resources target the unique knowledge and compliance needs of the public sector and include:

  • An online library of courses addressing the core ethics issues facing government employees and officials. Initial courses include Public Trust: The Key to Government Ethics and Government Ethics: Conflicts of Interest. An upcoming course focuses specifically on vendors to government agencies. These highly customizable courses are designed to help learners understand ethical guidelines contained in their local public codes, identify and avoid potentially unethical situations, and make ethical decisions that meet the public’s expectations for integrity and service.
  • Eight video modules that extend the learning process beyond initial training to reinforce the ethics of public service.  Topics addressed in the modules range from maintaining the public trust to conflicts of interest, confidentiality, gifts and gratuities, corruption and code violations.
  • An online communication toolkit that includes articles, brochures, mini-training modules, case studies and other resources to develop and sustain an ongoing, communications program. The toolkit is modeled after Kaplan EduNeering’s widely used Ethics Communication CoachSM, which now includes over2,000 tools and celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2009.
