Corporate Governance

One of the largest health insurance providers in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., this company's 10,000 employees serve approximately 3 million enrollees. The company serves the entire health care market, providing services in areas including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and traditional indemnity. As part of its corporate governance, all employees are required to complete training in conflict-of-interest policies and procedures. Confirmation of employee participation in the training program required three full-time employees to gather and organize relevant data.

UL EduNeering enabled the company to gain greater efficiency in monitoring, documenting and managing the training program. To replace the unwieldy questionnaires distributed to all employees to document comprehension of the policy, our FormsSM technology created online, function-based questionnaires that targeted the specific job responsibilities, regulatory requirements, and corporate expectations affecting each employee. Forms allowed automatic entry of the resulting data, eliminating the need for manual data entry and providing an audit trail of responses via e-signature.

Our solution reduced the number of employees required to collect, organize and enter the necessary data from three to one, redirecting the two additional employees to other job responsibilities and optimizing the client's human resources.

As a result of the project, UL EduNeering was asked to develop a similar solution for the company's Medicare Part D compliance program.
