Ethics and Compliance

This non-profit, mutual benefit society is the largest, most experienced provider of health care coverage in its state of operation. A member of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association of independent BC/BS plans, the 1500-employee company has a well-documented commitment to corporate compliance, ethics, and integrity. Employees at the company's dispersed offices received inconsistent messaging of critical information and training, compromising both regulatory compliance and corporate culture.

UL EduNeering's solution established a consistent corporate message to all employees, regardless of location, and provided customized training that celebrates the unique ethnic and cultural heritage of the company's employees. Courses covering the company's Code of Conduct and regulatory requirements under HIPAA were distributed, validated and documented in audit-ready formats through our Part 11-validated technology platform. Courses included employee photographs to engage learners and reflect the cultural makeup of the workforce. In addition, corporate information about physical security, conflicts of interest, and information security was distributed with receipt validated and documented.

The company has achieved its goal of consistent messaging, streamlined compliance, and a reinforced corporate culture. In addition, it has become a Prescription Drug Provider (PDP) under the Medicare Part D prescription drug program and expects UL EduNeering's solution to play a role in Part D compliance.
